Welcome to my new web blog!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog. For those of you that have been following me for awhile you will find it quite a departure from the old site, but one that I hope will be just an enjoyable if not more so.

So what’s new?

This is a space for me to share my thoughts on photography with anyone who is interested. As the title suggest, I will be sharing interesting news, tips, techniques and products that I stumble upon throughout my own photographic journey as well as some of my own images.

Q&A

I will also be answering photography related questions submitted by readers. You can submit questions in two ways:

1. On twitter – use the hashtag #sjrqa

2. By email at qanda@sjr-photo.com

What I’m Reading

I will be sharing from time to time some of the books that I am reading both photography related and not. Check the “What I’m Reading” section in the righthand sidebar.

Weekly Poll

Every week I will be posting a new poll topic for you all to chime in on. Fell free to vote, there’s no obligation. I will post the results the week after the poll is closed. See the righthand sidebar for details.

Shoot & share

In the near future I will rolling out some photography assignments for those of you that feel inclined to participate. I have always found assignments to be a great way of pushing my creative juices and I hope that you all feel the same way.  I have set up a flick group and would encourage you all to upload your photos (any images are fine not just assignment entries) to share with the FWIS (From Where I Stand) crowd. Check the “Share” section in the right hand sidebar for the link!

If you have suggestions for an assignment theme feel free to email them to me!

Well I think that is it for now. Here’s hoping for a fun and interactive online photography experience.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you!
